Browns and Railroad Connections, Port Huron area

Among other family artifacts in my great-great grandmother Sarah Ann Brown Westcott's things were invitations to the "First Grand Ball, Dec. 20th 1883" and the "Second Annual Ball and Supper, Nov. 20th 1884" for the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Firemen in Port Huron, Michigan. Along with 4 others a "W. Brown" is listed as a member of the Committee of Arrangements. I believe him to have been a descendant of my 3rd great-grandparents, Captain William and Diadama (Wheeler) Brown. The only photo I have of this pair was taken in Michigan, though they died in Malone, New York and are buried there. If there is anyone descended from this Brown line I would be interested in connecting to share information. William and Diadama had (known) children: Sarah Ann, Ira, Charles, Carlos, George, James, Harriet, Mary, Dedia, and William Jr.

Would also like to know if there is an historical or genealogical society in St. Clair County or Port Huron to whom I might send copies of these invitations for their records.

Any help appreciated. Thank you.
