Pascal Taylor and son Hollis Taylor 1860's Ottawa Twp and Grand Haven, MI
I am politely inquirying for information regarding Pascal Taylor born in 1804-1805 in Hardwick, Vermont to John Taylor (who died in the War of 1812 down in Boston, MA) and Hepsey(beh) Wood(w)ard. (John) Pasc(h)al Taylor married to Mary Jane Sweatt in Greensboro, Vermont in 1826 and had Hollis Taylor, Samanatha (who married to Clark Benton Allbee in abt. 1852-53 in Grand Haven, MI, she died in 1857 or 1858), and Harriet Louisa/Louise Taylor (who married Issac Milton Spin(n)ng in Ohio.
The Pascal Taylor family relocated to Cleveland,Ohio in ca. 1837 and Pascal was a Ship's carpenter. I found his family in 1840 and 1850 in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio. Then I surprisingly found Pascal Taylor, his wife Mary Jane (Sweatt or Swett), his son Hollis Taylor age 24, and Hollis' wife Ann(e) age 21, and their daughter Carrie age 5.12 (5 months of age) in Ottawa Twp, Ottawa County, Michigan. Carrie is clearly indicated in the 1860 Census as having been born on an "Ind Reserve", which I conclude is an abbreviated way of saying Indian Reservation (Native community).
My question is, where did these two Taylors and their spouse's go AFTER 1860? I can't seem to locate them anywhere. What Native Reservation community could Carrie Taylor have been born in? Was her mother native indian? Or were they all considered Native People's? What was Ann's maiden name? I am seeking desperately for information on this family. Living descendants, the marriage to Hollis and this woman Ann, death notice/record of any of them? etc etc. If anyone can please help me locate this family and or their living descendants I would greatly appreciate it emmensely. (no I am not looking to gain Native "status", I am already aware of my native ancestry here in Vermont)You can call if you want at (603) 788-4585 Kindly and sincerely, Douglas Lloyd Buchholz
