My Directory of Peope for Northwest Ottawa County lists John Wachter, birth date unknown, d. 1868, moved from Germany to Spring Lake in 1864. His widow, Dora Ronne Wachter, then married Thomas Bell. William Wachter was born in Germany in 1851, the son of John and Dora. A blacksmith by trade, William dealt in the sale of beer, liquor, and tobacco. In 1874 he married Clara Feidler, daughter of John and Margaret Erhardt Feidler. Clara died in 1927, John in 1930. There also was a Louis Wachter (1910-1988) and Louis Wachter (1875-1940), but I'm not sure if they were from the same family. They did live in the same area.
