I am searching for information about my great grandfather and gr grandmother. William Baird and Ann Jane Smith Baird. The went to Grand Haven in the 1860's. William joined the regular army but she stayed in the area and bought land.

Later a William Baird owned or managed the Michigan Exchange(whatever that was). My father, Charles R. Brown was born there in 1877. A cousin, William Parsons was born the same year in either Grand Haven or Scotland.

There was a connection with the lighthouse or lifesaving station. I'm running out of time as I'm 79 and can't get up there to do any searching. Many thanks if this isn't too confusion. Happy Holidays.
