Thank you! You say Ann Ives is Chauncey's sister-do you have any info on her, or is it because she was born also in NY? I haven't been able to find out any info to see if any of the other Ives or Jones in the same area are connected to mine.
I've been able to go through the censuses and from them, I have Chauncey (sometimes under the name Chancey) Ives was born July 1837, NY ; married about 1857 in NY, died 1910-1920, Coopersville (was last in the 1910 Polkton, Coopersville). His wife Mary A. Unknown was born about 1841, NY and died 1920-1930, Coopersville( was living with her son Leon and wife in the 1920 Polkton Twp, Coopersville village). I haven't been able to find where they were before the 1870 Polkton Twp., Coopersville, census.
Jonathan Jones was born 18 May 1802 in NY and died 18 Sept. 1893 Crockery Twp. (Ottawa Co. Death Record 1867-1901 shows him as being 91y 5m 0days) Wife, Rebecca Unknown was born about 1803, NY and died 13 Nov. 1885, Polkton Twp. The Jones were in the 1860 Twp. of Crockery, Nunica P.O. 1870 census shows Crockery Twp., Coopersville. The last Jonathan shows up in the 1884 as being in Polkton Twp. This Jones family showed up in Rose Twp., Oakland Co. for the 1850 census and the 1854 state census {names only). I don't know where they were before 1850.
