IVES and JONES Families in Coopersville
I'm looking for information about CHAUNCEY and MARY A. (Unknown) IVES, both born in NY and show up in Coopersville in the 1870 census, and were there till death. Both appear to have died in Coopersville. CHAUNCEY/CHANCEY was a farmer and a butcher and had a meat market in Coopersville. They had three children: LEON married to JOSEPHINE HAAS; EDWARD/ EDDIE W. married MACY JONES (my gg grandparents); and CLEORA married AMOS WALLING.
The other family is JONATHAN and REBECCA (Unknown) JONES, both born in NY.They are in Rose Twp., Oakland Co., MI in 1850, then in the 1860 Twp. of Crockery, Nunica P.O., and in 1870 Coopersville. They appear to have lived there until their deaths. JONATHAN was a carpenter.Their children: FRANKLIN/FRANK married MARY GIBBS, daughter of CHARLES TOMLINSON GIBBS and HANNAH WELSH.FRANK was in Co.F1 Mich Inf. during the Civil War.Frank and Mary's only child, MACY, married EDDIE W. IVES.
Would appreciate any history about these families.Thank you in advance.
