I have recently begun researching my mother-in-law's
maternal family. Her gr-gr grandmother was Aletta (Teeple)
Pennoyer. Aletta's first marriage was to a William Bellington/Bellingston who deserted her before their daughter, Sarah Jane was born in 1850. She later married Henry Pennoyer and renamed this daughter, Jennie. She is our ancestor. Jennie married a Joseph Gibbs and had three children: Nellie Mae, Minnie and Charles Wilbur Gibbs. Our records show that this Charles married Edna (Needham)and they had a daughter, Frances. Do not have this Charles birthdate. Other info : Robert Gibbs b. 03-16-1784 married Eleanor (??) Gibbs b.02-01-1786 with the following children:
Mary b. 02-10-1808
Martha b. 04-15-1810
Rebecca b. 12-11-1812
Charles b. 06-19-1815
Margaret A. b. 01-11-1818
Alexander H. b. 09-10-1820
Gershom b. 06-19-1823
Joseph b.05-31-1826

Our information shows that the Pennoyer Home at 9730 State
Rd.in Crockery Twp. was later occupied by Joseph Gibbs
and a Charles Gibbs. This home was built in 1857. If any
of this information connects with your research please reply.
