Bingo! You wouldn’t believe how long I have been searching to find the maiden name of William McMullen’s wife Margaret.

Would you know the source for that info – likely family knowledge? Would you know if William and Margaret are buried in Evart. They are my great great great grandparents.

Their daughter Louisa (my great great grandmother) married William Dudenhoffer 17 November 1859 in Orillia. The witnesses to the marriage were her brother John Henry McMullen and Eliza Dudenhoffer of Mara.

They had 4 children Hetta, Eleanor(my great grandmother) Annie and William. Louisa, sadly died at 28 yrs in 1869 and the children were raised by four different families until their father remarried.

Interestingly, Hetta shows up in the 1880 U.S. census living in the home of Perry Everts in Evart MI. I have her wedding announcement as she married Frank Bennett, also from Evart before heading by wagon train to Spokane.

I have the siblings of Louisa to be John H. McMullen (the only one born in Ireland), William Rowe McMullen, Eliza Jane, Margaret Augusta (married to Hector Law) – most I believe ended up in Evart. I have all their Marriage registration info from Mara twp.

Would you know if any very old family portraits exist? I have a picture taken in Orillia that is unlabeled. It may or may not be McMullens but it came from my grandfathers house when he died so it may very well be them.

Anyway, you have been most helpful and I will attach the info you sent to my tree.

Thanks again,

Phil Mahler
