Thomas, Thank you for the info. I got a copy of the 1870 census under the name of Herman Robert, and found he had a daughter named Emma & a son named Herman. The ages are the same as the ones I have. I was not able to find a death record for Herman under any spelling..Ruppert, Robert, Ruppart. Rupart, or Rupert. Thank you so much for your help. Now I'll try the 1880 Census.
