Hi, I'd like to list some of the surnames I am researching that are associated with Ogemaw County, MI. These names include: REMINDER, variations: REMENDER, REMENTER, REMMENDER and more. 3 REMÜNDER brothers left Otterstadt Bavaria together with their wives and children in 1852 to emigrate to Canada and the USA. Johann [John] REMINDER ends up in West Branch MI by 1877. He died there in March of 1900 and is buried in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
The name REMÜNDER underwent spelling variations, today in the USA, most of the descendants are REMINDER, some are REMENDER. Other surnames of interest that tie into the above are: SCHALL, LEHMANN, Z[S]INGER... and more. If anyone would like details, please just e-mail me. The SCHALL family is in Germany in 1836, in NY in 1844, in Ontario CAN in 1846. SCHALLs leave Ontario for Klacking Creek area of Ogemaw about mid-1870s or early 1880s. Some SCHALL family goes to Buffalo NY. Looking forward to finding more cousins, Debs in Tallahassee,FL
