Allen, Another wonderful resourse that the Oceana County Historical Society offers are three vols. of family histories in Oceana County. In Vol. I. on p.445 & 446 lists several Schmiedeknecht families. Phillip Schmiedeknecht who was married to a Gretchen came from Hanover Germany in 1863 and lived in Chicago. After Gretchen died he married Margaret Harjes and one of their children was Anna. I don't know if this is the correct Anna because nothing else was mentioned about her.
There is another mention of another Anna on page 445. This Anna is the daughter of Henry & Catherine Schmiedeknecht. She married Leslie Franklin. I am sending you per e-mail my files on the Schmiedeknecht families in hopes they will help you.
