Laurella, On page 161 of Oceana Co. Pioneers and Business men of today 1890 the following is recorded.
Township of Grant.
It tells about this township and goes on to tell about the township being organized Dec. 31, 1866. The first township meeting was held on the first day of April, 1867, at the house of Jason Carpenter, at which meeting O. K. White was elected Supervisor, Jason Carpenter, Clerk, and Henry W. Turk, Treasurer, each receiving twenty seven votes. Goes on to tell more about the people and this township... Henry W. Turk on section 9.... and on page 162 it lists H. W. Turk as supervisor in 1873 then under Treasurers: Henry W. Turk, 1867-8-9-'75...and that is all that is written in this book about Mr. Turk
