Professor Earl Clifton "Doc" Beck retired from the University of Michigan, School of Science and Technology. He was known for his lumberjack research into their lore and music and even founded a group of musicians clad in lumberjack gear that traveled and sang the songs for 20 some years. When he died in 1977 (month or date not given), he and his wife Mae Margery (Miller) lived in Farmington Hills. An interview with him mentioned several daughters, but only one was on the 1930 census and her name is largely unreadable...Mar***t. If anyone in Farmington Farms recalls this man or knows his family, please, I would like to add them to my family tree. Earl Clifton Beck was a grandson of pioneers, Peter Beck and Sarah Ann MOORE Beck, both born in PA, both lived and died in Hickman, NE. Sarah was one of my great grandfather's older sisters.
