Hello Cathy,
I have found a bit more about the Newberry/Buckbee family. As to Delia Valentine b. Michigan who married George Buckbee/Bucksbee b. NY; Maud Newbery, their daughter, is shown in Cemetery and Death Records of Avon Township, Oak. Co. Mi., a book found at the Pontiac City Library, published by the Pontiac Area Historical and Genealogical Society:
Maud was born 8-14-1879 in Michigan, died 3-21-1907, age 27y7m7d, buried in Rochester.
Also shown:
Leonard L. Newberry b. 8-4-1909 in Mich, d. 8-19-1909 15d; son of Alva Newberry b. MO, and Lilly Rickerd, b. MI.
Milo P. Newberry b. 10-11-1825 in NY, d. 1-1-1909 age 83y2m21d, son of Romeo D. Newberry b. CT, and Sarah Beckwith b. CT.
(It's pretty much the same as the record from Mt. Avon Cem. with a few alternate spellings).
One other thing, I copied 3 pages of Newberrys from Alice Serrell's Records at the Pontiac Library; she was a historian who collected info about persons of Oakland County and their ancestors. Serrell's records are also at the Lake Orion Library. I'll scan and email if you would like to have these. Let me know by email.
By the way, Serrell's records say that Frank D. Newberry b. 1842 was a Dr., but says he did not practice medicine; he was Principle of Rochester Schools, (so his Doctorate may have been in education?).
