Donna, please say that I've sent this info from an article in Chapmans "Portrait and Biographical Album" of Oakland County, and if not, you are welcome to kick me. I should have mailed it, with the large packet:
David Patchett, b. April 6, 1808 in Lincolnshire, England. "His parents, John and Mary (Hurry) Patchett, came to America and lived on the farm now occupied by their son, (ca. 1900-Sec. 10, Bloomfield Twp). They were members of the Church of Eng., and had 16 children, eight of whom lived to age of maturity."
..David was a farmer in Eng. and he and wife Elizabeth Trollope of Lincolnshire, Eng, (dau. of Thomas and Mary (Squires) Trollope, of Eng.), married June 6, 1831, and came to Amer. in 1838 with three children, one of whom died on the voyage. (five weeks and three days travel). Landed in NYC, came by rail to Detroit, and settled in Birmingham and had 9 children:
Mary- m. Clark Pearsall, John- died inf., Thomas- died inf. on crossing 1838, Jane- died inf., Sarah- m. Joseph Allen, Robert- died age 18, Eliza- m. William Hagerman, Ellen- m. Fred King, Emma m. Aaron Heacock.
David and Elizabeth had 20 grandchildren, who are listed in the article. I'll send you a copy, if I didn't before, and again, I apologize.
There's also a sketch of the above Joseph Allen in the same book; I didn't copy that, but someone at OCPHS inPontiac would probably send you a copy, reasonable. (Tell them you're my cousin). I think the Allen family is related to the Todd family in Oakland Co. by marriage. Todd's are related to my Smiths. Did I tell you that Nathaniel Pearsall's will is on file in Oakland Co.?
As you can see, I'm still wading thru my files, lol, and not sure what will wear out first, the eyes or the brain.
Cheers Dear,
Kathy
