Judy,

My uncle told me that Fred, Frank, and Lizzie were siblings and their last name was Dyberg and they lived in Newaygo Co., MI. He did not specify if they were of his father's generation or his. Trying to talk about this with my uncle is challenging because he is quite deaf and doesn't always understand what I am asking him.

The Earnest Swanson on the World War I Draft Registration Cards is my grandfather. He was born July 16, 1891 - probably in Arrarps By, Malmöhus län, Skåne, Sweden as this was the birthplace of his youngest brother, Sven Malte Swanson. They were the only children in their family that immigrated to America. Their parents were Nils Svensson and Helena Wickstom or Vickstrom. Nils and Helena had six children altogether: Elida, Earnest, Walter, Harrietta, Helge, and Sven Malte.

Regarding my grandfather's death; he died on Memorial Day, 1960 (I believe that would have been May 30th). I have searched social security records online and have not found him or my grandmother. One of grandma's brothers is not listed on social security records either. I wonder if you could opt out of social security program back when it first started?

Thank you again for all your hard work and the links you gave me.

Diane
