James Rose b 1791 St Lawrence CO NY and 1st wife Lucy Barber are the parents of Anson Rose b 6 May 1817 Pierpont, St Lawrence Co NY. They had a total of 9 children. They moved to Defiance Co OH ca 1845. Sometime after the move, Lucy Barber Rose died and James married Orpha Wood 9 Sept 1848 in Defiance Co OH. James and Orpha are the parents of Samuel b May 1850 and Harmon b ca 1852, both born in Defiance Co OH. I don't know if James Rose died in OH or in MI, but the next time I find Orpha, she is married to a Joseph Branson,(1870 Muskegon MI census)Samuel, Harmon and a Sarah Rose are living with them. In 1850 this Sarah was living with Roxey Rose Dillon the sister of Anson Rose. At that time Sarah's surname was listed as Wood. She may have been the daughter of Orpha Wood. Orpha Branson is buried in Seaman Cemetery Muskegon Co MI as is Sarah. She married a James McIllmurry.
