George Washington Perkins (24 Jun 1820-02 Aug 1917) was Michigan's oldest Civil War veteran when he died in Lakeview at age 97. He moved there from Pillar Point, NY with his family after 1880. His children were John Wesley Perkins,Dora Janette Perkins Gregory, Elmira Celestia Perkins,Edwin Gray Perkins, Lyman Clark Perkins, Franklyn Ackerman Perkins and Jesse Jenks Perkins. His first wife, Rhoda Celsestia Ackerman Perkins died in 1892 and he remarried Lavina Larr, the widow of William Larr. I have information to share and appreciate any new information that can be provided.
