As a hobby, I rescue old photos from auctions and antique shops. I have just acquired two such photos. Both were taken by Chapman of Stanton, MI. My guess is late 1800s to early 1900s. Photo number 1 is of a beautiful baby-not more than 6 months old. This baby is dressed in a long lacy gown, has bright eyes and short sandy hair. The baby is seated on a marble top table and behind it is a lacy curtain. It's probably concealing a person holding the baby up. Photo number 2 is of a draped casket. Five floral arrangements in vases are on and around it, and a doily/ribbon decoration off to the one side. In the center is a large floral arrangement and in the middle of this is the name KEITH. On top of the casket is photo #1. Is there anyone who might have Keith relations from that era. I know that in 1904 an Avis Keith was born, but I'm unsure if that was a maiden name or married name. Keith could be a given name, but it's not one I've run across at all from that time period. I've placed a call to the local funeral home-but they're busy right now. The librarian also gave me some information-but I know I'll need to head down there. I live in Montcalm Co. If I can find family members who will appreciate these treasures, I only ask what I paid for them, postage and cost for a sturdy mailer. Kathy Notify Administrator about this message?
