Does anyone know anything about the following family, found in the 1870 census of LaSalle, Michigan?
Shire, Adam, 44, born France
Shire, Caroline, 41, born France
Shire, Adam J., 20, born NY
Shire, Peter, 18, born NY
Shire, Louisa, 15, born NY
Shire, John, 13, born NY
Shire, George, 11, born OH
Shire, Charles, 1, born MI
This family was in Ballville, Sandusky County, Ohio at the time of the 1860 census. In that census Adam was born in Germany (Baden).
The name was also spelled Scheuer or Scheurer, Shier, etc.
