April Flint Genealogical Society Meets
The Flint Genealogical Society is pleased to welcome Rosie Chapman as the guest speaker for the April 3rd meeting at the Burton Senior Citizens Center, 3410 S Grand Traverse, Burton, MI.The meeting begins at 7 p.m. and all are welcome to come.Admission is free.
Ms. Chapman will be portraying Madam C. J. Walker (Dec 23, 1867 - May 25, 1919) who was born Sarah Breedlove.Madam Walker was an African-American businesswoman, hair care entrepreneur and philantropist, making her fortune by developing and marketing a successful line of beauty and hair products for the African-American women. Her company name was Madam C. J. Walker Manufacturing Company.
Ms. Chapman is a professional storyteller with an English teaching background combined with a Drama/Speech minor.She has performed all over the US, Australia, Africa, Scotland and Germany bringing historical figures to life in an interactive storytelling style.
