Both Thomas and Roxy homesteaded land in Yuma County Colorado "proving up" one quarter in 1904, another in 1911

Son John L. "Celander" had homesteaded in that township - proving up in 1896, so probably arrived in 1889. He married a neighbor girl Olive Grace Philpy in 1891, and they, along with Grace's parents, are buried in the Rocky Ford Colorado cemetery.
