From beyond do you mean before such as his parents?? I am assuming so as you know his wives and children.

His June 28, 1906 marriage to Lillie Sleep in at familysearch.org - you can see the image of the actual entry, which shows his parents as

Richard Hicks and Louisa Davey

John is shown as born Quincy Township

witnesses were Richard Hicks and Adeline Williams

1900 CALUMET, HOUGHTON, MI

Richard, age 50, miner, copper, born Nov. 1849 England parents born England, immigrated 1873, married 27 years

Louisa, age 46, wife, born Feb. 1854, England parents born England, immigrated 1873, married 27 years, 8 children born 6 living

John, age 18, son, engineer, born Sept. 1881, MI

Beatrice M., age 15, daughter, at school born Oct. 1884, MI

Louisa M., age 11, daughter, at school born Sept. 1888, MI
