I would agree with your assumption of Nancy being the mother to Charlotte. Name: Fred P Deuel Estimated Birth Year: abt 1835 Age in 1870: 35 Birthplace: New York Home in 1870: Tecumsch, Lenawee, Michigan Race: White Gender: Male Post Office: Tecumsch Fred P Deuel 35, NY - millwright Charlotte Deuel 32, MI [1838] Frank A Deuel 10, MI Finley B Deuel 6, MI Nancy Conklin 65, NY [m/inlaw] [1805] Could Nancy Conklin be the grandmother ??? FYI - All census records prior to the 1850 census only listed the head of household; whether male or female. NO specific age was stated for any family member NO place of birth was stated – city, state, or country NO city, town, or village is stated – only the county NO street address was stated NO marital status was stated – single, married, widowed, divorced NO family relationship was stated – brother, sister, cousin, son, daughter, wife, inlaw, etc… NO occupation was stated NO parental birthplaces are stated NO race was stated [but assume “white”] 1850, 1860 & 1870 census records do not show family relationships or parental birthplaces. Michigan did not require “by law” birth and death registration until 1867. Notify Administrator about this message?
