My great great grandmother Marie Adeline Messier lived in Perth County, Ontario and her husband Evariste ? Trombley lived in Bay City, Michigan. We do not know where they were married or when although by 1870 they are in Bay City, Michigan with a 2 year-old daughter, Alice Josephine Trombley. Being both Frenc-Canadian and Catholic, the marriage would usually have occurred at one of the Churches they belonged to - not so. If you write the Archdiocese or even the Catholic diocese, of that church, they say you must know the parish/church they belonged to and contact them. I have. Also, the young daughter would have been baptised and we cannot find that. However, the home church of my gr gr grandfather had the records and baptisms of everyone else in his family. My gr gr grandmothers church had records of all of her families baptisms, marriages and deaths as well as her entire family being buried in the cemetery there- except her. Quite a mystery. Linda
