The problem is I don't have a lot of information. Really the only information we had is what was on the marriage certificate when Charles married my grandmother in 1921. He doesn't list the date of his birth, only that he was so many years, months, days old. Going by that, his birthdate would have been March 9th, 1863. He was born in Michigan (no town listed). and I believe his parents were born in Canada. My grandmother divorced him in 1922 before my father was even born and forbid anyone in the family to talk about him. Consequently, my father tried for years to find him, then my brother tried and now I'm giving it a shot. He would have been in Oregon in 1921, that is where he married my grandmother. We've checked all kinds of records and cannot find a match for the name and birthdate we have.
