I am looking for information about Rev. Adam Alfred Hammar and his family. Rev. Hammar emigrated from Sweden in 1882, his family followed in 1883 arriving in New York on the Geiser (July 28). His wife, his second, was Karin Anderson or Johnson and children were Alfrieda Josephine, Ellen Marie, Jacob Alfred, Sarah N. and Hannah. I have not been able to find the ship Rev. Hammar came in on. Rev. Hammar was a minister at the First Baptist Church in Ishpeming, Michigan from 1884-January 1, 1891, He and his family moved to Kansas City where his son Sigurd was born in July 1891. By 1897 he had settled in McKeesport, Pennsylvania where he founded First Swedish Baptist (now Riverview Baptist). He died in 1912 of TB. His first wife was Josephine Marie Linn. I believe she died in Sweden after giving birth to twins Alfrieda and Ellen. I have been unable to find where in Sweden these people came from or the parents of Rev. Hammar. Unfortunately Rev. Hammars death certificate lists parents as unknown. This ship his family followed him to America on, the Geiser, left Copenhagen for New York so I don't even know where in Sweden they left from. Any help would be appreciated.
