Beaver Island Records- Where?

Hello-

I was wondering where does one go for records for Beaver Island, Michigan, circa 1850? (birth, death, marriage, land, MAYBE census?) I had family that lived there and owned land, and my understanding is that the island was annexed a few times by different counties, so which courthouse, etc., would I go to now? And/or, is there any records online for this island? I've tried the Historical Society there on the island, but I think I'm at a point where I would like to get actual copies of documents.
