Try searching the LDS pilot site for BMS records in the U.S. I'm not sure if you can pull up records for Ireland. I haven't tried that.

Also try the LDS main site. www.familysearch.org

If you have the 1880, 1920 and 1930 census records for your SHEA family members in the States, you can do some serious guesstimating about years of death. You might even find some marriages, too.

But a word of warning before your search MI NARA for anyone with the given name Michael. And I smile as I say this because I have Michael J. BURKE in my line from Ireland. And I lnow what a bear it can be.

Happy hunting and if I can help further, let me know. BTW, were any of your SHEA family members in Canada? One of my MCCOSHEN cousins married Patrick SHEA in 1861, St. Anne's, Calumet, QC. Just curious because when it comes to genealogy, I continue to learn how small the world truly is.
