I'm looking for my lost family. My Ggrandmother and Grandmother moved to California and it cut off all contact to the Reeds still in michigan. Garland Elhart Reed was born 1881 or 1882 in Virginia and drafted for the war in 1917-1918 in Pennsylvania. I dont know how many children he had but I know for sure he had his son born abt 1917 Garland E Reed and daughter born abt 1911 Ruth Elizabeth Reed. Ruth and Garlands mothers name is said to be Elizabeth Taylor. Garland the son is listed to be 13 in 1930 and was a lodger in this household. Races were put down sometimes as being mulatto and sometimes as being black. Some where along the way Ruth and Garland ended up in michigan where Ruth had a daughter Ruth Harriett Searles or Ruth Elizabeth Searles they later moved to California and lived in the Pasadena area. Ruth Elizabeth Reed died in 1981 and her daughter died in 2001 or 2002.
