I have a postcard with the picture of 6 Reed City basketball players and their coach, Mr. Brown. My great-uncle, Warren "Mike" Rath is holding a basketball imprinted with, "R.C.H.S. '18". He was born in 1900 so would probably have been a senior. There are no names listed of the other players. Another postcard shows a team of 8 players and the same coach. The basketball says "Champs" and the players are named: Hieber, forward - Claus, forward- Wuertz, guard - Todd, forward (back row) Webert, guard - Lerch, guard - Coach Brown - Wienert, center - 'Hard-boy' Mike, forward and guard. There are 2 other cards with teams shown, but no names. Coach Brown is on one of them, but the 4th card is of a much younger team and a different coach. I would be glad to send, by e-mail, copies of these cards to anyone interested or who might have more information about these basketball teams. I would say the era is from about 1915 to the early 1920's.
