Judy:

Do you have him on the 1900 census? And know he was born in Michigan? I find in Washington on the 1917/18 draft cards A Clarence Robert Stearns b Nov 19 1885, as a cook in a lumber Company In King County, Bellevue Washington with a Mrs Ened Stearns as next of kin. I noted the one you found in Yakima County was also listed as a cook., could he have moved to King co, and also changed wives, in those 7 years?
There is another Clarence R. Sterns/Stens in King County 1910. a lodger aged 25 b Illinois. Any other clues you can give?
Howard Boswell
