I should have added -
The Detroit Public Library [main branch] has a death index on micro-fiche for the years 1918 - 197x.
The index is FREE to use. It is located in the Burton Collection Room.

The following info. is displayed - 1st & last name, sex, age at death, death cert. #.

This information is only valid for those who died "within" the Detroit city limits.
