Does anyone have any information on Peter (Sr.) or Eliza McSherry, who may have died in Michigan during the time their son Peter Jr., or their daughters, Lucy McSherry Hamburg or Eliza McSherry Cox,lived in various parts of the state? During the Civil War, Peter Jr. joined the 5th Reg. of the Michigan (Saginaw) Volunteers, was wounded at the battle of Williamsburg which left a ball in his leg where it remained throughout his life. He married Lucy Reynolds c. 1863-4, and lived in Monroe and Wayne Counties and at one time owned a farm in South Rockwood, MI. One or more of his parents may have joined Peter and Lucy in Michigan. Or they may have joined their daughters either in the region near or in Grand Rapids or on the west side of the state. If anyone has a Peter or Eliza McSherry with a history in Ontario and Michigan in their ancestry, please contact me at maggiemuss@yahoo.com. Thank you.
