One of my great-great grandfathers was William Ivory b. circa 1845). His wife was Ellen Corcoran (b. Ireland). William's birthplace is listed as Canada on one official document and New York on another. I don't know which is true. One of his daughters (my g-grandmother, Catherine, was born in Brooklyn; of the three ramaining children, two, Eleanor (m. George Collins) and George Washington E., were born in Wisconsin and one, William Thomas (m. Anna Shanahan in Chicago, was born in Michigan. His Chicago obit said, "Ludington [Mason Co.,] papers please copy." By 1890 they were all in Chicago where they eventually died, all before 1917. William had at least one brother (name?) who had a daughter also named Catherine (Kitty) who married a Mr. Ross and moved to California before 1911.I do not know William's parents' names. He is one of my brick walls. Let me know if there are possibilities.
