Looking for any information on Abner Z. Hoyt. I know of him from 1870 - death in 1904 but know nothing of his life before 1864 when he joined the 10th Mi Inf during the Civil War. This is all I have to date(not much):
According to 1870 Mason Cty, Michigan census:
House 28

Abner Z. Hoyt Farmer/Laborer/Pvt Co B, 10th Mi Vol Infantry 1864-1865
born: About 1835/New York
married: date/place ????
died: 03 Apr 1902, Chicago, Ill.

Jane A. Burroughs
born: About 1835 in Ohio
died: Riverton Twsp, Mi 09 Sep 1871 Not sure of cause.

5 Children:
1. William D. born Michigan, 11 Mar 1859
2. Mary A. born Michigan, 12 Oct 1860
3. Myrtle born Michigan, 02 Sep 1862
4. Arttie E. (girl) born Michigan, about 1865
5. George born Michigan, 24 Oct 1868

Information gathered from 1870 Mi census and Abner Z. Hoyt's Civil War pension records. After Jane's death in 1871, Abner went on to marry ("housekeeper" and friend of Jane's) Mary Mae Parker 21 Oct 1871. They had no further children and not sure what became of any of the children later on. From the pension records, daughter Arttie died a few years later.
Any info greatly appreciated. Hope this can help someone else. Thanks.
