My Great Grandfather and Great Grandmother lived in Negaunee many years. Victor A. Menard, born January 2, 1885 in Three Rivers, Quebec, Canada married Marie Antoinette Thibault in Negaunee on May 4, 1906. She was born on September 3, 1888 in Rapid River,MI. All of their children were born in Negaunee.
They were: Elizabeth Mae, Mildred Antoinette, Jeanette Jay and Florence Victoria (Florence is my grandmother).
I would like to find out more about my great grandparents, as well as my great-great grandparents. I need to find out the exact names of my G-G grandparents. They lived in Negaunee as early (maybe earlier) as the 1900 census. Armishes or Armedos Menard was born April 24, 1856 in French Canada. He married Mary Elizabeth Houle, also from Canada. In the 1900 census, his wife is listed as Marie, so I do not know if he remarried. Their children are Marie and Victor, and possibly an Alberta (female) and Mary.
Any information about the Menard family would be welcomed.
