Thomas, I was happy to have your reply and the information you so kindly sent. Here are the sketchy details I have from "The LaFave Family" A single sheet (No Author Given) typed from a folder in history center at Escanaba given me by a family member. Maybe they will help someone else. By 1872 Frederick LaFave was a Negaunee saloon keeper and sold his business to go to Fayette taking his wife and 2 sons (Solby) and the other unknown. Bought land from Jackson Iron Co in which he was unsuccessful. He returned to Negaunee and moved to Garden, Delta Co.

Frederick LaFave was born in St. Julienne, Quebec and married Marceline DUCETTE b. 1833 May have lived in Clinton Co. NY before he came to the UP

Marceline LaFave b. May 20 1866 in Chocolay d. 1940 buried in Garden Cemetery, Delta Co. St. Julienne m. David SOULIER July 12, 1886

Wm. LaFave b abt 1864 m. Rosanna BOUDREAU, Da of Jos. and Celina Roberts Boudreau

AugustLaFave (Angus?) LaFave was single on the 1910 census Delta Co

Frank LaFave No Further Info Possible b. 1852?

Solby LaFave (Called Frederick or another son entirely?) B. June 22, 1872 Fayette, MI "Born on a Brush Pile" d. 1848 Buried in Garden, MI He married Maria TROUNSELL (Trousil?), da of Richard and Mary Macnamara Trownsell Living in Fairbanks, Delta Co MI on 1880 Census

There may be a daughter named Elizabeth but no proof.

I believe one of Frederick and Marceline's daughters had a son or was married to Peter aka George JEROW,my husband's Great grandfather and they had a son. George Jerow later married Flora JOUBERT and that son's mother's maiden name was LAFAVE, not Jerow. George and Flora Jerow are not found on Delta County Census before 1900. That is where they lived and died. And that is our family brick wall. Thank you very much for your interest in helping as I am aways grateful for any clues.
