Searching for details or descendants of this family that was on the 1880 census at town of Manistee, Michigan, Manistee County. William Sawyer, b.about 1838 at NY, wife Virginia, b. about 1844, at Ohio, and who I believe had maiden name Griffith, but have not been able to prove that. They had only one child with them in 1880- her name Myrta or Murtee, born about 1862 either Illinois or Ohio? -This family was at Chicago in 1870, and I cannot find them on the 1900 census. William was listed in 2 census as a "Lumber Inspector". Appreciate any contacts to help with this, Thanks, Allan Griffith, Bloomington, IL - magrif@verizon.net
