Hi Diane,

Just a few tidbits of info for you. On is registration for WW1 Richard listed his name as Richard Nick Vriesenga and birthday as 21 Feb 1878.

I did find the following
1910 Dist #133, Paris, Kent, Michigan
Vriesenga, Albert 29 Holland
, Katre 27 Holland
, Anna 3 Michigan
, Josie 2 "
, Clarence 5/12 "

I believe that Albert is a brother to Richard and he died in about 1931. I don't know any further if this is your Clarence or just a cousin.
