Old Krnsington Cemetery, Green Oak Township

I wonder if you can answer a question about the Old Kensington Cemetery - East Edge of Green Oak Township.

You mentioned in an Aug 22, 2001 post that the records of Kensington Baptist Church cemetery are located at the Green Oak Township Hall. Can you tell me if this is same cemetery I mention above? Can you tell me how I might get a lookup or c copy of the records?

Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I'm trying to get info on Parley W. C. Gates who was married to Betsey.

Parley W. C. Gates lived in Lansing, Ingham, Michigan in the 1850 Census,
with wife, Betsey
and children:
Sarah M. age 20,
Mary age 18, Orpha S. age16,
Sabra age 12,
Clark age 7 or maybe 17,
and with:
Elizabeth E. Taylor age 1.

Betsey is in the 1860 Census at age 57 living with
James Carthers and his wife,
May, age 28.
Lory, female, age 6
Charles, age 3.
Betsey Gates, age 57

This May most likely was actually Mary, Betsey Gates' (and Parley's)
daughter.

Cemetery Records Transcribed by DAR show the following burials in "Cemetery
in Section 5, Lyon Township, Oakland County, Michigan:

P. W. C. Gates, death Feb. 8, 1853, age 53 H/o Betsey Gates
Betsey Gates, death May 15, 1866, age 66 W/o P. W. C. Gates
Betsey E. Taylor, deat April 14, 1849, age 22y 4m 26d, W/o John D. Taylor
Betsey Elizabeth Taylor, death Jul 23, 1851, age 11 yr.(this age may be
supposed to be 1, or else the Elizabeth E. Taylor shown in the 1850 Census
was 10 instead of 1.

I would deeply apprecaite any help or ideas about how I can get further info
on any of these persons listed above. Does anyone know if any obits are
available on any of these persons or where I could look for them in
newspapers, histories, etc. Thanks very much.

Marion
