Thanks Kim. I already tried that and found that he is not buried there. Here is the reply I received some time ago:

"Catherine, wife of John Degeer died 1885 aged 80 years, buried in lot 38 D.”

The e-mail reply also states – “Oddly she is not shown next to him....nor is he listed anywhere in the 5 readings I have of this cemetery. Are you sure that he was buried in this cemetery? The only reason that I can figure out why was listed in the DAR transcription index is because the headstone indicates Catherine was the wife of John Degeer.”

I am now working on another lead that places his death in Livingston, Sanilac County, MI
