Looking for information on these family members from West Prussia.
Peter P. Kontak (father)
children: Pauline Mary b. 1879, Magdalena Mary b. 5 May 1878, Stephen John b. dec 1885, John/Jon T. b. mar 1882, Frank/Franz J. b. 10 Apr 1884. They are from West Prussia. I am having a hard time reading the name of the village they are from on the passenger list. If anyone can help with that, I can email a copy to you. They traveled here on the Bohemia from Hamburg and Havre to NY and arrived May 12, 1888. And moved on to Michigan. The name was spelled Konteck on the passenger list. I do not know if they changed it when they got here or if they spelled it wrong on the list.
Later they had another son named Paul P. b. Nov 1889, MI.
Peter's wifes name was Anna. On their son's marriage licensce it looks like her maiden name is Kirra, but I have seen other people's trees that spell it Kiza, or something like that. Peter disappeared between 1910 and 1920. We don't know if he ran off or something happened to him. There is no trace of him after that. Some of them lived in Livingston Co, Mi and others lived in Ingham co, MI.
Their are no Kontak names left in our line. Because, the boys, Jon and Paul never married or had children, and Stephen married and had only step children, no children of his own. Frank married and had 5 girls. So, the Kontak name in this line is dead. There are, however, still a lot of Kontak's in the US and I would like to find out if any of them were some how related to Peter. Brothers, father, cousins, anything.
Can anyone help please!
ShawnAnn
