Ron Micallef Obit
ADRIAN — Ron Micallef, age 72, of Adrian died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2008, at Herrick Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 9, 1935, in Sliema, Malta, to Joseph and Kaynee (Calleja) Micallef. On June 18, 1960, he married Mary Ellen Vermeulen, at St. David Catholic Church in Detroit. Ron was a member of the U.S. Navy and Seebees. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Ron dearly loved his family and the time they spent together. He enjoyed Civil War History, Computers and Music.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Linda Desjarlais and her husband, Lawrence, of Adrian and Sharon McMahon and her husband, Frank, of Manchester; one son, James Micallef and his wife, Robin, of Onsted; one brother, Walter Micallef of Cement City; one sister, Monica Wood and her husband, Robert, of Cement City; and six grandchildren, Tony, Elise, Lynette, Dylan, Carolyn and Rhett. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The funeral liturgy for Ron will be offered Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, at 12:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Adrian, with Father David Hudgins as celebrant. Cremation will follow the service with burial of cremains in St. Joseph Cemetery in the spring. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-9 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, 1448 Short St., Tecumseh (517) 424-1848.
A Vigil Prayer Service will be held on Friday at 8:30 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, 1448 Short St., Tecumseh. Visitation will also be held on Saturday one hour prior to time of service at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Adrian.
