Will look up Rhoades on indices...

My Rhoades family roots are in Lenawee County. My great-great grandmother, Maria J Allen (her father Ambrose Allen mSamuel Rhoades) was born, married and died there. Maria and Samuel then went to Montcalm County. The search for her parents' background continues.

Meanwhile...

This is a list of the photocopies of Census Index book pages I have. I will be happy to look up a name on these pages, but CAN NOT do any further research. And please allow me at least a week to get back to you as this is my avocation. (Also have some birth/marriage/death indices for Montcalm Co, Michigan.) Sometime, during the coming week, I will post a list of names of actual census copies I have...

Rhoad/Rhoades/Rhoads/Rhode/Rhodes unless otherwise noted
Maryland: 1830 (Franklin, Kent, Talbot and Washinton Co) -- RHODES only
Michigan: 1820 -- 1830 lists Rhodes only Hiram M and Samuel
1840 - 1850 - 1860
1870 (Michigan 1870 Census images are available FREE on line at easiest way to find is go to Yahoo, put in 1870 Michigan Census and it will pop up first on list. It's through Library of Michigan and they have a GREAT search feature. You can put in first name or last, or just a county. It's fantastic.)

New York: 1790-->1830 and 1850/60 lists for Ontario/Wayne County spelled RHODES only. 1810 for entire state. Please note: I also have surnames ALLEN, BRADISH and HILL for the combined lists.

Ohio: 1820 -- 1830 -- 1840 -- 1850 -- 1860

Pennsylvania: 1800, 1810, 1820, 1830

I am NOT a "researcher" other than trying to find my own family roots. I have copied a lot of things to make it easier to work at home rather than trying to travel. I want to make sources I've found more accessible and may "someday" post all my stuff so that those down the line will have an easier time. I am VERY new to this. Started in mid-August, worked for a month and just picked it back up about a month ago. I have had some help from some wonderful people especially Carol, Sue and Steve in Michigan and others who have so graciously posted information. I am returning the favor. -- Blessings, Lynn
