This information is from a copy of an obituary I found on my last visit to Michigan. I don't know the date of the paper, and I am making an assumption it is the Lapeer paper. Maybe it will be of help to someone.

Obituray-Franklin L Walton died Nov. 16th 1908 at his home in Attica ttwnship from neuralgia of the heart. Funeral held Friday at Attica M.E. Church, Rev. Bragg officiating and remains laid at rest in South Attica cemetery. Deceased born in Shelby, Macomb Co., 1835. When two years of age he came with his parents to Attica where he since lived. He was twice married. His first wife Elizabeth Youngs of Attica June 7th 1857. There were born to them six children, foru of whom are living, William, Sidney, Mrs. Effie Sweet of Attica and Mrs. Dora Powers, of Goodland. In 1898 he married Miss Mary Rutherford, of Imlay City, who with three children, Zelda, Lyman, and Vera survive besides two brothers, James Walton, who lives in Minnesota and George who lives in Washington state. Mr. Walton was one of our popneers. He has ever been a successful and prosperous farmer and was highly respected. The sympathy of many friends is extended to the bereaved family. We wish to thank friends and neighbors who so kindly assisted us during our recent bereavement and to those who contributed flowers, also to Rev. Bragg, and the choir.
William, Effie, Sydney, Dora, Mrs F.L. Walton

I have a copy of the original if you would like it.
