My Great Grandfather is James H Peirce.
In his obituary says he was born in Clinton Mine, MI in 1873. His father, Henry Peirce, was a miner. I found them listed on the 1880 Census in Engle Harbor Township in Keneenaw County. Since I cannot find a Clinton Mine on any map. I am thinking that it was a mine town for an old copper mine in the 1870s. If any one knows anything thing about Clinton Mine or has an idea of where I can look can look for information?
