I'm just starting out researching my family roots on my mother's grandparent's side of the family. Their names were Cleo & Ilda Hughes, 2 of their children were daughters(that I know of)--Barbara (dec'd.), and Elizabeth(married name CRAIG), my grandmother who died in 1979 or 1980, although we're pretty sure it was 1980.
my great-grandparents owned a market, called Hughes Market, from somewhere around the early 30's until during or just after WWII; I believe it was located in either Kalamazoo or Battle Creek areas--I haven't been in in either of the areas since before great grandpa died. He took my mom and me by where the market used to be and the building was still there, but I can't remember what the sign said. My mother's name is Anne Hughes Cole(CRAIG).
