You can go to this website for the Kalamazoo Public Library and search the local newspaper (Kalamazoo Gazette)indexes.

If you type in Thysse you get 48 items. If you type in Thysse, Martin you get a hit on their wedding announcement from 1949. They do have people in their Local History section that will look-up and photocopy items for you for a fee.
