Starting Sept. 5, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum
message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles
will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will
no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.
I am not related, but I looked up some of your names on the census and found on the 1910 census in Kalamazoo:
Harvey Beals 45, wife Ida 47, says they have been married 5 years. She says she had 6 children and 4 are still alive. There is a stepdaughter listed but I can't make out the spelling very well, first name looks like it ends in -grt, last name looks like Schensnerd. She is 19. I think there may be a mistake on the record of where her parents are born, as it looks like it says Michigan for her mother, and Holland for her father.
In the 1920 census I find Harvey Beals 55 and Ida 58 in Kalamazoo, but no children are listed. I do not have access to the 1930 census. I find no record of Nicholas, other than on the marriage index that shows Nicolas Schansmere wed to Ida Santman on 9/14/1878 in Kalamazoo and on the 1880 census where I found Ida Sousema 19, with Nicholas 17, in Kalamazoo.
